Welcome Week
At the beginning of each academic year Polimi organizes a Welcome Week for incoming exchange, Double Degree. During the event students take part in orientation activities that combine seminars, workshops and leisure moments. At the end of the event students will have fulfilled their administrative duties, learned something about Politecnico di Milano and the City of Milano, and have met a lot of new friends and classmates.
The Welcome Week for the Spring semester of the 2024-2025 academic year will take place in February 2025. Detailed info will be published in January.
Identification
The identification is a mandatory procedure consisting of checking students ID cards or passports. It allows exams validation at the end of the mobility.
Policard
The Policard is a student card that will give you access to on-campus facilities and can be activated as prepaid credit card at the bank “Banca Popolare di Sondrio” too.
In order to obtain it you have to request it through the Online Services> Activation of magnetic badge. Once the Policard is issued you will receive an email with the instructions on where and when to collect it.
Get your provisional Learning Agreement (only for Erasmus+ students)
The LA is the document that defines the courses that you will attend at Polimi and that will be recognized at your home institution. It is a document specific for the Erasmus+ students: check with your home institution if you require one and consult this section for the instructions on how to fill it out.
Fill out your study plan
A Study Plan is the list of courses that you will attend during your stay at PoliMi: you need to submit it by entering it in a dedicated section in our Online Services.
In order to choose the courses, you have to consult the section Educational Offer dedicated to the School of the study course you are enrolled in.
Even if you prepared a preliminary study plan before arrival, remember that you are required to arrange your study plan directly with your departmental coordinator once in Milan.
PLEASE: contact him/her as soon as possible (look the section search for professors on the PoliMi webpage) in order to get to know your path at PoliMi.
Find your referent professors below:
- Architecture
- Engineering
- Design
Once enrolled, you must finally prepare and fill in the official PoliMi study plan on the online services following the rules of the study course you choose to be enrolled at and according to the suggestion of the departmental coordinator at PoliMi (referent professor).
The complete Msc course at PoliMi foresees 120 ECTS credits and in order to get your diploma here all the credits must appear in your study plan at the end of your study period before graduation.
THAT’S WHY: If the DD agreement between your home institution and PoliMi foresees that you acquire less than 120 credits (i.e. 60 or 90), you need to validate the lacking number of credits. The referent professor at PoliMi will define which credits will be transferred from your previous career to PoliMi study plan.
You'll be asked to enter the courses to be validated directly in your study plan.
Remember that you need to provide your most recent Transcript of Records.
